Three legends, one architecture
Putting 2Pac, Jay-Z, and 50 Cent on the same track is something hip-hop history almost never allowed. Three icons, three eras, three coasts — never properly assembled. I Got The Click is my attempt to give them that meeting, on my terms, on a deep house architecture.
Each voice carries something different. 2Pac brings the raw lyrical fire. Jay-Z brings the calculated power, the businessman behind the bars. 50 Cent brings the street swagger, the hustle made anthem. Layering them onto a slow deep house groove flattened the timeline — suddenly they're not from different decades, they're in the same room.
The structure
This track has a real arc. The intro builds atmospheric — empty space, slow build. The first chorus drops 50 Cent's hook with a tight low-end. Jay-Z takes the verse, calm and surgical. The chorus comes back to anchor. Then at 2:20 — the deep house drop. That's the moment the track stops being a hip-hop remix and becomes its own thing entirely.
"Hip-hop and deep house aren't opposites. They're cousins. Both built on rhythm, both made for the night."
Three legends, one architecture. Hear all three on real playback.
The mix was designed for real playback. If you want what I made to land the way I made it:
- JBL BassPro Hub — the in-car powered sub I tested this on.
- Sony WH-CH720N — wireless over-ears with deep bass for late-night listening.
- Audio-Technica ATH-M20x — studio honesty if you want the flat-response truth.

People sometimes ask why I keep building tracks around 2Pac specifically. Honestly: because his voice still cuts through anything. Drop a 2Pac line over a deep house bassline and the room shifts. Add Jay-Z's measured precision and 50 Cent's confidence on top, and you get a kind of three-dimensional energy that no single artist could carry alone.
Listen at 2:20 when the drop hits. Up to that point, the track is half-hip-hop, half-deep-house. After that — it's purely the night. That's the click in I Got The Click.
Best listened to:
- On the highway at 2 AM — headlights, no traffic, full bass
- Through good headphones — the layering rewards attention
- Loud — this one was mixed for volume
- As part of the full Murat Koff playlist for continuous night drive flow
